DevOps is a term emerging from the collision of ‘Agile Operations’ and ‘Value of collaboration between development and operations staff’.
DevOps is a term for a group of concepts that, while not all new, have catalyzed into a movement and are rapidly spreading throughout the technical community. Like any new and popular term, people have somewhat confused and sometimes contradictory impressions of what it is.
It is very important to realize that DevOps is not a product. You cannot buy DevOps and install it. DevOps is not just automation or infrastructure as code. DevOps is people following a process enabled by products to deliver value to our end users.
In this session, first I will talk about the basics of DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Then I will describe an effective pattern for getting software from development to release. I will show the development code in Visual Studio 2017 with ASP.Net 4.5 with unit test which is configured with GIT repository. Once the code is pushed in GIT, how Jenkins server builds with MS Build and uploads the code to Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and then how AWS CodePipeline integrates it with AWS CodeDeploy and finally deploys to the Amazon Elastic Computer Cloud (EC2) machine.
