Practical DevOps - the tools and tricks

One of the practice of agile teams can bring efficiency and increased ownership within the team. the practice is none other than DevOps practice. With right tools and tricks, organizations can get benefited from the DevOps culture. In this session, we will see how tools and best practices can help a team and organization to become more efficient, transparent and automated.

DevOps is one of the core practices of agile teams worldwide and still many teams are struggling to get the maximum benefits out of it. the main reason for struggling is to use of the right tools and practices. In this session, i want to focus on practical part of DevOps practices where attendees will be doing things by themselves in a real world scenario. The session will be focusing on

  1. Using SCM tools (Git, Gitlab, Bitbucket etc)
  2. CI/CD tools (Jenkins)
  3. Integration of Jenkins with SCM, Slack and email
  4. Using configuration management tools (Ansible)
  5. Use of docker and kubernetes
  6. Monitoring with prometheus

Session will be delivered in small chunks where use will get a 5 mins idea session for each of the topics and 10 mins to do a practical implementation of that. it will require laptops for the participants and high speed internet.

Mizanur Rahman

Speakers Profile

Mizanur Rahman is an agile evangelist, technology enthusiast and problem solver from Dhaka, Bangladesh, who loves web and mobile application development. Over the years, he has been working with different technologies in web based and mobile based application development and service design. He has more than 17 years of professional experiences in software development, architecture and agile engineering practices.

He is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and the first Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) from ScrumAlliance in Bangladesh. He is also a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), Certified Agile Leadership (CAL1) Credentials and SAFe Agilist (SA). He is a CSD trainer from ScrumAlliance and takes regular CSD classes in Asia and USA. He is the founder of TechMasters, a Registered Education Partner (REP) of Scrum Alliance. He has published several technical books from Packt Publications and his recent book was “PHP 7 Data Structure and Algorithms”. He is the founder of Agile Bangladesh chapter and provides agile coaching, mentoring and involved in all sorts of community activities for agile. He was a speaker at different Regional and Global Scrum gatherings for last few years. He has spoken at Regional Gathering India 2015, Global Gathering India 2016, Global Gathering Singapore 2017, Asia Agile Forum Dhaka 2016, Asia Agile Forum Nepal 2017. He is a technical agile coach and focusing on spreading agile engineering practices and Scrum.

Scrum Certification Program
We have conducted many Scrum Certification Program in Nepal which has largely benefited in expanding agile learning in Nepal. We regularly conduct Scrum Certfication programs.
We provide trainings on Agile and Scrum practices for the one who want to expand their understanding in Agile.
Agile Mentorship/Coaching
We conduct mentoring and consulting programs for the organisation that are willing to transform fully to Agile organisation. Our team will also be involved in few daily standups, scrum planning and other important scrum ceremonies.
